March 2022 Fanfic Recs

I was out of town for quite awhile in the middle of the month and didn't get much reading done during that time, but luckily found some good stuff at the beginning and end to make up for it. Here are some of the fics I enjoyed in March:

Well, yeah, she's a middle blocker. Wei Ying bets her height is what got her the position. She's tall and she's, like…super cool. Her dark hair is pulled up into a tiny pony at the crown, revealing an undercut underneath, and she's lean and muscular. She must notice Wei Ying's gaze on her because she shifts where she's looking and looks directly at Wei Ying. Wei Ying grins and waves, but the woman just skitters her gaze elsewhere, pursing her mouth. Hmph. Well. Rude.

Also of note! The mall goth au series, which features one of the horniest Lan Zhans in all of the canon/fanon multiverse (you all know what a high bar this is) and which I recced among my wlw Wangxian fic recs a few months ago, got a new update this month and it's as smutty and fun as the rest of the series: Malls I'd Like To Frequent (11k, explicit).

Beyond Evil Fanfic Recs

Joowon hasn’t said much about work this week, which fits a pattern Dongsik has been piecing together. A few late nights, cases Joowon doesn’t want to talk about, and a sudden fit of self-denial in the bedroom. There are bad weeks in their line of work, weeks when nobody wins and you see things broken that won’t be fixed. Dongsik has seen worse ways of coping. So he makes noodles and doesn’t ask about Joowon’s day, and doesn’t comment when Joowon sits closer than usual on the couch.

In addition to the fics above, I've also been working my way through katierosefun's sizeable back catalog of Lee Dong-sik/Han Ju-won fics. They are mostly short, G or T rated, and sweet, so they're nice bite-sized treats before bed. Some of the ones I've enjoyed most so far include: all the bad dreams that you hide (G), make it last (T), and call you out on your contrarian shit (G).

Yuri on Ice Fanfic Recs

all good things come, Yuri Plisetsky/Otabek Altin, 4k, explicit

“You’re gonna show up at my hotel room,” Yuri says, “and I’m going to have you on my bed with your ass in the air before you can even say hello.”

But that is, in the end, just a fantasy. After the unmitigated disaster that was Otabek’s short program at Skate Canada two years ago, Yuri Plisetsky is officially and categorically not allowed to fuck Otabek until after the free skate.
