Here are some of the fics I enjoyed in July:

Bad Buddy x A Tale of Thousand Stars

It's hard to overstate the extent to which I wanted a fic exactly like this after the Our Skyy 2 Bad Buddy x 1000 Stars crossover episodes, nor how quickly I clicked after spotting it in the tags. Sometimes the fics of our dreams really do get delivered to us on a beam of light out of the bright blue sky with the heavenly choirs singing full blast overhead, and we don't even have to write them ourselves. 😆

the best kind of friends, Phupha/Tian/Pat/Pran, 7k, explicit

Pran likes Tian so much, and the small curve of his smile, meant only for Pran, combined with the two handsome half naked men only a few feet away, is doing something funny in his gut.

"Wow," Pat is saying again, running a hand over Chief's biceps. "It's crazy that you don't even lift. That's so hot." He pauses for an unsubtle half-second before adding, "You know what else would be hot? If we kissed."

Chief, already half frozen, freezes even more, eyes widening in uncharacteristic shock. It is not, however, the face of someone who hates the idea.

Kinnporsche Fic Recs

Speaking of poly ships I can't get enough of, last September I recced A Wholeness (Vegas/Pete, 5k, explicit), which has since expanded into a series, and which got a sequel this month in which Kinn and Vegas agree to share Porsche and Pete sometimes.

An Equilateral Triangle, Vegas/Pete/Porsche and Kinn/Porsche/Pete, 7k, explicit

Porsche leans over Kinn and pulls Pete in for a kiss, which always shuts both Kinn and Vegas up. Maybe it’s not just Pete who feels things building. There’s something growing between the four of them, Pete thinks dizzily, Porsche’s mouth hot against his, like how stacking triangles makes stronger bridges. The metaphor is a little beyond him right now.

Pete’s used to kissing Porsche, as much as one can get used to kissing Porsche, but not half-hauled over Kinn’s lap like this. Kinn’s hands stay politely by his sides, but Pete is still caught between Kinn’s muscular body and the table, and he can feel the heat radiating off Kinn, feel his solidity.

He shivers and leans into Kinn’s warmth. He hasn't felt it for a long time, but Kinn used to sneak smokes with the guards in high school and college. He'd stand shoulder to shoulder with Big and Pete, under an awning out of the rain, warm like this. Pete hasn't thought of it for a long time.

Or: Pete and Porsche (and Kinn and Vegas) vs. the mortifying ordeal of being known.

Win wouldn’t call what was happening a crisis per se. Yes, his situation was unique and mildly difficult to manage, but he wouldn’t call it a crisis. That was a bit dramatic.

It wasn’t Team’s fault that Win was a horny bastard 24/7.
