October 2024 Fanfic Recs

forestsofpineThe other day I was looking at my 2023 fic reading stats post for unrelated reasons and got to the line about hoping to find a new "large and active fiction-based fandom" in 2024 and had a sad little laugh. That very much has NOT happened so far and I've neither read nor written much fic this year as a result. Being in between major fandoms is the worst.
October was particularly bad because I was traveling again for most of it (work-related) and while I enjoy traveling and am quite happy with what I accomplished, it also leaves me even less time to sift through my favorite tags in search of anything to capture my interest.
Anyway, that's all a lead-up to the unfortunate fact that I only have one single rec this month. 🥲

At least it's a fun one, though! This was one of those fics I didn't know how badly I wanted until I saw it in the tags and pounced.
