forestsofpineI did an earlier post of favorite Untamed fanvids, but it's been awhile, so I thought it was time for another. Here's five more of my all-time favorite vids for The Untamed.
runs in the family
An outstanding ensemble vid about family dysfunction and generational trauma that always has me screaming internally with how much of both it packs into two minutes and thirty three seconds, and how well it all works. The lyrics matching is so clever it may take you several viewings to catch all the references.
Red Ribbon
A new Wei Wuxian character vid that came out last October from one of my favorite vidders! Beautifully edited and so moving.
Blank Space
There's so many great Jin Guangyao vids out there that I did a whole post about them, but this is one of my particular favorites.
eliminate evil and establish a just law
This vid really captures that otherworldly Lan aesthetic.
Fire Drills
Inspired by the Supernatural fandom classic Women's Work, this meta vid takes on the crippling sexism of the cultivation world and the many and varied ways in which patriarchal societies destroy the women forced to live within them. As a bonus, if you appreciate vids like Women's Work and Fire Drills, I also highly recommend the Game of Thrones vid Run Boy Run, which tackles similar themes in that show.

Date: 2022-01-20 03:00 am (UTC)I am fairly picky about the use of voiceovers in vidding myself, so the majority of vids I rec don't have them or have only limited use of them, but I'll try and remember to mention the occasional exceptions in the future. Feel free to ask again if you're unsure, though!
