Battlestar Galactica Fanvid Recs

forestsofpineYou know, why not? As long as I'm thinking about BSG fanvids, let's just do a big post of them. Being able to make nice convenient lists of favorite things is half the reason I created this journal, after all!
BSG is one of my absolute favorite vid fandoms. It caught the attention of so many amazingly talented vidders back in the day! Even now, more than a decade and several major fannish obsessions after it finished airing, it's one of the fandoms from which I have the most vids saved.
Kara "Starbuck" Thrace was my favorite character and Kara/Lee my favorite ship (FML, little did I know the pain I was going to be in for when I first thought they were cute together) so these recs are going to be heavy on them, but I have some general recs and recs for other characters and ships, too.

A rapid-fire general BSG vid with some great beat editing, exactly what it says on the tin.
Fix You
A gorgeously edited general BSG vid with an absolutely perfect match of lyrics to character as Number Six and the Cylons try to "fix" their troubled human progenitors.
More Cylon-centric fun: More Human Than Human
Jerusalem
This general BSG vid focuses primarily on the female characters in the miniseries and season one.
Clint Eastwood
Ugh, Gaius Baltar is SUCH a sleaze, but this vid's dizzy rhythm and flawless lyrics-matching captures his contradictions and the ridiculousness with which he repeatedly fails upwards. It's also great fun to compare this use of the song with this Captain America vid that uses the same one.
Cold Cold Water
A lovely Kara/Lee vid based in season one, melancholy but not quite so brutally angsty as it became in later seasons
I also recommend A Day Like Today, a Lee-centric vid with similar themes.
jarrow's BSG Vids
Blanket rec for jarrow's BSG vids, which are high angst but beautifully edited. My particular favorites are the Starbuck character study Falling from the Sky and the Kara/Kat vid Learn To Crawl, both of which have some of the most gorgeous use of motion in vidding that I've ever seen. dualbunny's BSG Vids
Another blanket rec! I talked a little bit about dualbunny's iconic trio of Starbuck character vids set to P!nk songs in my Battlestar Galactica/P!nk=OTP post yesterday, and will link them again here for completeness:
I also highly recommend Who Knew, one of my favorite Kara/Lee vids (especially when I'm in the mood to have my heart ripped out of my chest and stomped on a few times), and dualbunny's brutal meta takedown of Chief's "everyman" persona, For Your Entertainment. Speaking of having one's heart ripped out of one's chest and stomped on a few times, this is my other favorite Kara/Lee vid. The build in this... Please excuse me while I collapse into a wailing ball of misery.

Finally, after all that soul-crushing angst, here's another great Starbuck vid that.... well, it isn't NO angst, because Starbuck, but it is a lovely reminder of why we all fell in love with her in the first place.
