Same Song, Different Fandom

I watch fanvids for a lot more fandoms than I read fanfic for, and one of the things I like to do is compare how vidders from different fandoms use the same song. Sometimes it's quite similar; other times amazingly different. See the two Umbrella vids below for an especially diametrically opposite approach!

I thought it might be fun to make a little list of vids I know from different fandoms that are set to the same song. This is by no means a complete list of vids for each song, let alone of songs that have vids from multiple fandoms! However, these are all vids I enjoyed enough to rec, and some are recent or even all-time favorites. It's going to be heavy on Cdrama fandoms since they're what I'm watching the most right now.

The Winchesters vs Harry Potter. Sadly, the Harry Potter vid appears to be a repost, as it's not on fabella's official YouTube channel, and the download links from the original vid post no longer seem to be working. I'm not sure if it was reposted with permission or not, but if anyone knows a confirmed legitimate source to stream or download the vid, please let me know and I'll edit this post.

Glitter & Gold, by Barns Courtney

Talented beat editors have a blast with this song. All three vids contain frequent sound effects and occasional voice clips from the source material.

One is crack, one plays it straight; both great vids.

The Mountain, by Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer

The LOTR vid is a longtime fave and it was fun to see the NiF vid posted more recently.

The Untamed vid is one of my favorite Jin Guangyao character vids, the Word of Honor vid focuses on Wenzhou as a power couple.

Wangxian vs Victuuri; both vids are lovely but the Wangxian vid is a particular fave.

Wangxian vs Wenzhou; very cute, both of them! The Word of Honor vid contains voice clips from the source material.

This one's cheating slightly, because they're two different covers of the original song by Rihanna, but it's also one of the most fun comparisons because the mood is so different for each!

Uptown Funk, by Mark Ronson

These are both quite fun, with good beat editing.

Classic Hollywood movie musicals vs classic wuxia films

Wait For It, by Leslie Odom Jr. and the Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton

This one's a little tricky to use because the lyrics are so specific to Aaron Burr's life, but both these vids make it work.

Avatar: the Last Airbender vs The Untamed

These two are a pair of action edits for Word of Honor and Wang Yibo's roles in The Untamed and Legend of Fei, both very nicely done. Unfortunately, I believe the Wang Yibo vid is a repost; if anyone knows the original source, please link me and I will edit this post. Both vids use sound effects from the shows in addition to the musical track.
