forestsofpineOoof, I am so behind on my TV watching this year. I haven't even started several shows I've been anticipating and am behind on several others I was enjoying. So naturally that means it's time to start thinking about next year's lineup. 😅 GMMTV's 2025 event had a lot that I was excited about!
In approximate order of interest:
Only Friends: Dream On - EARTHMIX + OHMLENG + JOSSGAWIN + NEO. Okay, I had a full meltdown about this yesterday. The cast alone! As you might recall, I had some quibbles with the original, but whatever else it was, it was very fun, and this looks like it will be, too. There's no drama like theater kid drama lol. I am SO seated for Mix getting to be slutty and a little bit evil and kiss other boys. And a Boston cameo! My only complaint is that Earth and Ohm will apparently play brothers, so we don't get to follow up on that interesting chemistry between them from the 1000 Stars x Bad Buddy crossover, but oh well, that's what fanfic is for.
Cat For Cash - FIRSTKHAO my beloveds + Satang + CATS. Oh, I am so here for this, it looks very cute. I hope Mix gets to cameo as a vet.
Ticket to Heaven - FourthGemini, directed by P'Aof. This one is gonna make me cry so much, I'm sure, but Fourth and Gemini were fantastic in Moonlight Chicken and I'm really excited to see them stretch their acting chops with another meaty pair of roles.
A Dog and a Plane - TayNew as a squabbling paramedic and flight attendant, looks fun, I love a good bickering couple
Burnout Syndrome - OffGun + Dew directed by P'Nuchy of Not Me, looks very intriguing (POSSIBLE THREESOME???)
Me and Thee - PondPhuwin, I was skeptical but I have to admit I was won over by Pond's pathetic lovelorn mafia boss
Dare You To Death - JoongDunk police thriller BL with a serial killer, looks ridiculous but fun
Melody of Secrets - ForceBook + Boun + Jan! Ooo, ANOTHER thriller? I'm very happy GMMTV is letting its adult actors play adult characters and not students this year haha. ForceBook aren't my favorite of GMMTV's CPs, but I like thrillers enough that I'll definitely keep an eye on the reviews and tune in if they're good.
Whale Store - MilkLove You've Got Mail?
Memoir of Rati - GreatInn + AouBoom period drama
Girl Rules - Looks like a lesbian version of Only Friends, will check it out if the reviews are good (ETA: oh, I missed that Jojo is directing earlier, that probably bumps it up a few spots)
My Romance Scammer - Ohm Thitiwat with a different Fluke in a romcom about a con artist falling in love with his mark, looks cute, might tune in if the reviews are good
Love you teacher - PerthSanta are cuties, I'm not a huge fan of the de-aging trope, though
That Summer - WinnySatang + Mond + Neo, I'm not super into amnesia storylines either, although Mond doing BL again is an incentive
There's a few more trailers I haven't watched yet, I'll add them in later if they look interesting, I guess.
