March 2025 Fanfic Recs

forestsofpineOriginal fiction reading of the month included The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door, by H.G. Parry, a dark academia historical fantasy with a lot of ominous foreshadowing that kept me turning pages to see exactly how everything was going to go wrong.

Rating: 2.0 | Would take again: No | Grade: B+
Unless you want to spend the semester learning about Professor Wei’s highly specific feud with another professor that I still don’t understand the origin of, take a different professor!

Rating: 2.5 | Would take again: No | Grade: C
If you take this class, hope and pray that Wei Wuxian never stops by during lecture. He came in once just to ask Professor Lan if he’d removed the stick up his ass yet, and as soon as he left Prof Lan gave us all a pop quiz. EVIL.

A Modern AU where the Jin Siblings--Jin Zixuan, Meng Yao, Qin Su, and Mo Xuanyu--have a My Brother, My Brother, and Me style podcast. That's it. No plot, no internal chronological order, minimal angst, all goofs.
