I had this all drafted up by mid-June, but then, just like my Q1 list, a couple last minute contenders popped up to switch things up a bit, and I was super busy with preparations for the wedding(!) of my niece (who's more like a second daughter to me) and didn't have time to update it until now. So that's why this is a bit late. Anyway, here's some of what I was listening to last quarter!
Youtube embeds behind the cut. Videos may contain physical triggers such as rapid cuts, flashes, etc. - feel free to ask for details!
Kai - Adult Swim
I enjoyed "Wait on Me" but ended up listening more to "Adult Swim" - I liked the way the song built on itself as it went on. I went from "hmm, probably not for me" to "okay, I like this" in 2:24.
ATEEZ - Lemon Drop
I liked this for the same reason as the two Kai songs above: it has a similar chill but summery (and sexy) vibe.
The B-sides weren't their strongest, imo, but the tune of "Now this house ain't a home" was super catchy to me for some reason and it keeps getting stuck in my head even though I thought the lyrics could have used another pass or two by an editor.
Red Velvet Irene & Seulgi - Tilt
They're lesbians, Harold.
I also liked the B-sides, especially Girl Next Door and What's Your Problem.
ONEUS - X
Super fun!
fromis_9 - Like You Better
And last, but certainly not least, this was a pleasant first listen that grew on me enough to become my most-listened-to June release, and will most likely be a top contender for my favorite girl group song of the year.
Honorable Mentions

Other Stuff I've Been Listening To
Overall, I've been a little too consistent in my listening habits these past three months and a lot of what I've been listening to has been tried-and-true faves that I've already mentioned in this journal.
A few of the exceptions:

Other Stuff I've Been Listening To
Overall, I've been a little too consistent in my listening habits these past three months and a lot of what I've been listening to has been tried-and-true faves that I've already mentioned in this journal.
A few of the exceptions:
- I'm in another Qntal phase, with Musa Venit being a recent fave.
- SHINee introduced choreo for "Shift" at their 17th anniversary concerts in May, which reminded me how much I like that song, so it's been on repeat. And not that I've ever forgotten how fucking fantastic Sherlock and CØDE are, but I've had those two on repeat a ton since the concert as well.
- Somewhere I stumbled on P1Harmony's cover of "good 4 u" by Olivia Rodrigo. It's not on Spotify, but I've listened to it a bunch on Youtube
- Benjamin released another single I liked.
- Another late addition to this post: I thought Netflix's K-pop Demon Hunters was a lot of fun and really enjoyed some of the songs, especially Golden and Your Idol. I'm going to throw out another quick plug for A.C.E Junhee's great cover of the latter. Since I'm writing this up in mid-July, I can also report that Wonho (cosplaying Abs Saja, for whom he was probably part of the inspiration) and AleXa (cosplaying all three of the HUNTR/X girls) are among the other real-life idols who've done fun covers of songs from the movie.
Happy listening!
