Word of Honor Fanvid Recs

forestsofpineWord of Honor is still a fairly new show, so I'm sure there's still lots more vidding goodness to come, but I was going through my vid collection for it last night for other reasons, and decided I had enough to do a quick vid recs post with some of my favorites so far!

Levitating
This is a charming Wenzhou vid that really captures how much they fundamentally like each other (even when Zhou Zishu is pretending he doesn't) and delight in each other's company.
A Little Bit Ghost Valley
An unexpected but ridiculously fun combination of music and source material. Vroom vroom, bitches.
The Autopsy Garland
Two sweet and fun vids above, and now it's time for some angst. This vid focuses on Zhou Zishu and his soul-destroying years as the leader of the Window of Heaven. "You don't want to see these guys without their masks on."
Word of Honor Fighting Mash-up
The fight scenes in Word of Honor were a lot of fun and there are some great mashups and action vids for them. This is one of my favorites.
I also recommend these two similar vids by the same vidder: another fighting mashup and an ASMR fighting mashup.
Another fighting mashup by a different vidder that I really enjoyed was this Zhou Zishu one edited by a Chinese fan. Unfortunately, I'm no longer able to access the original vid post on Weibo. It may have been taken down after 813. Luckily, someone saved the vid on Twitter. If anyone knows of any place it's possible to link to the original vidder, please let me know and I'll add credit!
The Most Wu Xia/Jiang Hu Edit EVER! on Word of Honor
This is a fun ensemble vid that pays homage to the classic jianghu lifestyle embodied by the characters. I recommend turning on subtitles if you don't understand Chinese lyrics.
I also enjoyed this fight mashup by the same vidder.
True Love
This Wenzhou vid uses more voiceover clips than I usually prefer, but I defy anyone who likes them not to finish it with a big grin. They're such assholes, and they love each other so much. 😍
I recommend Beautiful Mess by the same vidder as well. Again, it relies more on voiceover clips than my usual taste and is also set to a slower song, but despite these stylistic quibbles, I thought it came together into a surprisingly moving highlights reel of their relationship.
