Here are some of the fics I enjoyed in December:
Catherine, Called Birdy Fic Recs
I stumbled on this sequel fic by accident while looking for an entirely different fandom and thought it did a great job capturing the tone and voice of canon, and giving Birdy a plausible and satisfying future.

Heated Rivalry Fic Recs
I actually am a little behind due to being busy with family over Christmas and haven't watched eps 5 and 6 yet, but did that stop me from reading fic? No.

Speaking of Ilya being "one of the girls", thinking about an AU where they're actually Liliya and Jane had me remembering the burning hot wlw smut produced by the Wangxian fandom, so I went and re-read a bunch of my favorite f/f Wangxian fics, which hold up very well, I have to say, so I'm really hoping that the Heated Rivalry fandom develops a similar sub-fandom.
LAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST, I won a Fandom Trumps Hate auction last spring for one of my favorite authors and with 2 of 3 chapters posted so far, I could not be more delighted by the result. I'll do a proper rec next month when I have the final word count, but meanwhile, it's Beyond Evil JWDS, so if you love them as much as I do, please check it out!
