Last month, I was reminded of the existence of RateYourMusic and decided to experiment with it as a way to keep track of my K-pop listening. Here's my 2024 K-pop list so far (mostly title tracks, with notes).

As I mentioned at the end of March, I was out of the country and with rather spotty internet access for almost a month from mid-March to mid-April, so that's why I'm combining my March and April fic recs this year. On top of that, I had an extremely busy day today and almost forgot that it was May 1st and time to post them, but here they finally are, squeaking in under the wire with a few hours to spare! 😅

Hello friends!

This is just a quick note to say that I've been out of the country for most of March with limited internet access, and will be gone for a couple more weeks. As I've neither had much time or opportunity to read fic nor am I sure whether I'll have enough time and internet access to write up a recs post of the ones I have managed to read in order to post it on April 1 as usual, I think the easiest thing to do will just be to skip this month and combine my March and April recs to share on May 1.

I recorded reading a total of 366 fics in 2023, compared to 406 in 2022. This includes everything I liked enough to finish reading, plus a few WIPs and most longer full rereads, but not partial rereads or fics I started reading but DNF'd. After a pretty slow spring and summer and a dismal September, I'm pleased that my reading picked up again a little bit towards the end of the year. At the beginning of October, I set the goal for myself of reading at least 365 fics in 2023 so I could average one per day, and I succeeded, but just barely, squeaking past that target somewhere around 4PM on New Year's Eve. 😅 ( Read more for total wordcount, top fandoms, top ships, and top tags )

I don't know what was up with my attention span in the second half of this year, it was really bad. I kept starting new TV shows and getting sidetracked (my watchlist on MyDramaList is such a mess right now), so I didn't finish very many and decided to throw in some movies to pad things out.
